Data Destruction Policy

IT Recovery Group is committed to the secure and complete destruction of all data on devices processed through our facility. Our data destruction procedures meet or exceed industry standards.

Our data sanitization processes comply with NIST Special Publication 800-88 Guidelines for Media Sanitization and DoD 5220.22-M standards for data clearing, purging, and destroying.

We employ multiple data destruction methods based on media type and security requirements: software-based overwriting for reusable drives, degaussing for magnetic media, and physical destruction for maximum security requirements. On-site destruction involves securely drilling drives at the client's location. Off-site destruction involves securely drilling and physically smashing drives at our secure processing facility.

Hard disk drives (HDD), solid-state drives (SSD), laptops, desktop computers, tablets, mobile devices, servers, storage arrays, and any other data-bearing media.

A Certificate of Data Destruction is provided for each device processed, documenting the serial number, destruction method, date of destruction, and responsible personnel.

All devices are tracked from pickup through final disposition to maintain a complete chain of custody and ensure accountability at every stage.
